A Junkanoo delight
March 13, 2011 - Arms outstretched in reverie, Nicole Sweeting’s Junkanoo dancers stand in a frozen rush at the Lynden Pindling International Airport. The artist has chosen for the dance a man and a woman, each bedecked in layers of costumes that surprise viewers with color. After all, the figures, both 8 and 9ft. tall, are cast in bronze.
First African Americans Police Officers Unveiling Ceremony

Sanford Foundry Lands Vatican Job
Aug 2002 - The American Bronze Fine Art Foundry here will eventually produce 3,000 bronze busts of the Virgin Mary, to be sold for $15,000 each. Another 1,000 made of silver are priced at $30,000 each. Within a few weeks there will be full-time armed guards here because 25 of the Madonna statues will be cast in gold and later offered at $1 million each. More than 1,500 pounds of gold will be brought in and used under intense security since each of the statues will require 1,000 ounces of gold.

American Bronze Fine Art Foundry has landed a contract with the Vatican to reproduce 4,027 busts of the Virgin Mary from Michelangelo’s statue The Pieta. The foundry will create 3,000 bronze busts, 1,000 silver, 25 gold, and two platinum busts under the exclusive license. The Vatican will sell the bronze busts for $15,000 a piece, the silver for $30,000, and the gold for $2 million. The two platinum busts will be sold at auction and may fetch as much as $5 million a piece.
